Oscillation Definition
It is the repetitive motion from central point. Or back and
forth motion of any objects. When we leave a ball about a certain height, then
ball begins to oscillate.
Another
example of oscillations is:
1) Heart Beat of Our Heart.
2) Vibration of string in guitars,
Violin
.
The simple harmonic oscillator
It is a weight connected to a spring subject to just weight and strain. This system is in a balance state when the spring is static.
When the spring is dislodged from the steady state, there is
a net restoring force on the mass, having a tendency to take it back to
original steady state. But mass acquired A momentum which let him moving beyond
opposite steady state
This is called back and forth motion of object called
oscillation.

Damped and driven oscillations
All real
world oscillators are thermodynamically irreversible. Mean energy is loss by, Friction,
sound or heat.
That is
energy of oscillator is converted into heat .This is called damping.
When we
leave a ball from certain height, then energy of ball is converted into heat
and sound.
